Head Salesforce Solution & Org Architect

About the role

Absa Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) is looking for a Head Salesforce Solution & Org Architect to build the next generation of client engagement. The role ensures the Salesforce estate becomes a secure, scalable, connected and sustainable enterprise platform, while driving reuse, standardisation and adoption of native Salesforce and Financial Services Cloud capabilities across CIB's Pan-African footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Provide architecture leadership across Solution Architecture, Org Architecture and Architecture Leadership.
• Translate complex CIB business and technology requirements into end-to-end solution architectures.
• Shape the target Salesforce architecture for a client-led Pan-African CIB, combining Financial Services Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, analytics, enterprise data and advanced AI.
• Determine how Salesforce interacts with enterprise applications, platforms and authoritative data sources.
• Lead architecture decisions on data, integration, security, identity, automation, AI and custom development.
• Champion native Salesforce capability and challenge unnecessary customisation.
• Guide Feature Teams, developers, technical leads, platform engineers and delivery partners.
• Establish reusable patterns, standards and architecture governance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience across Salesforce platforms and enterprise technology environments.
• Proven experience designing and delivering Salesforce solutions across multiple business domains and large-scale programmes.
• Experience architecting integrations with enterprise applications, data platforms and identity/security ecosystems.
• Architecture leadership in complex, integrated and highly governed environments.
• Experience establishing reusable patterns, standards and architecture governance.
• Experience as accountable architecture authority for a Salesforce platform, including target-state architecture, roadmaps, standards and platform evolution.
• Experience in corporate and investment banking, institutional banking, wholesale banking, markets, transaction banking or complex B2B financial services is highly desirable.
• Master's degree in Information Technology.

Required skills

• Deep hands-on Salesforce architecture experience, ideally including Financial Services Cloud.
• Strong judgement on native capability, configuration, extension and customisation trade-offs.
• Preferred certifications: Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, Certified Data Architect, Integration Architect; Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) is highly advantageous.
