Head of SEO – Remote Full-Time

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Head of SEO to lead strategy and performance for a portfolio of clients at a premium marketing agency. This remote, full‑time position will own end‑to‑end SEO audits, roadmap creation, data analysis, and translation of insights into actionable plans while mentoring an SEO Specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage customized SEO strategies and roadmaps for each client.
• Conduct advanced technical, on‑page, content, and competitive SEO audits and prioritize recommendations.
• Own keyword strategy, URL structure, site architecture, and content mapping.
• Align content strategies with SEO and AEO objectives.
• Collaborate with the Channel Marketing Director to evolve agency SEO frameworks.
• Serve as primary SEO contact for clients, delivering presentations and clear reporting.
• Produce monthly performance reports with KPI tracking and strategic insights.
• Manage and mentor SEO Specialists, ensuring quality and timely execution.
• Perform quality assurance on implemented recommendations and support internal SEO education.
• Work with content, development, and design teams to embed SEO best practices.
• Stay current on AI‑assisted SEO tools and monitor AI impact on search.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting.
• Proven ability to design and lead SEO strategies across multiple industries.
• Strong knowledge of technical, on‑page, off‑page SEO; local SEO is a plus.
• Experience mentoring junior SEO team members.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining SEO concepts to non‑technical audiences.
