Head of Human Resources

About the role

As the Head of Human Resources at Next Biosciences, you will lead the strategic and operational HR functions across the organisation. You will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, shaping people strategy, culture, and performance to support the company’s mission in biotechnology.

Key responsibilities

• Align HR strategy with business objectives, covering resource planning, cost management, policy maintenance, training, culture, and employee engagement.
• Partner with department heads to design and implement people solutions that drive business results.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, from sourcing and screening to negotiation and placement.
• Own onboarding and off‑boarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
• Maintain HR SOPs, policies, organograms, and job descriptions in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Manage the full performance appraisal cycle, including training managers, developing KPIs, and conducting reviews.
• Provide guidance on employee relations and oversee industrial relations to align with company values.
• Facilitate in‑house training, career development, and conduct salary reviews within budget.
• Prepare HR documentation for ISO/AABB/SANAS audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant HR experience.
• Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
• Strong confidentiality, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.

Required skills

• Experience with HR/Payroll systems, preferably Sage 300.
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms.
