Head of Human Resources

About the role

Our client, a leading privately owned real estate development business, is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. They are seeking a commercially minded and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the people agenda, partnering closely with the CEO and Executive Team to attract, develop, engage and retain exceptional talent while fostering a high‑performance, values‑driven culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall people strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, driving organisational effectiveness, workforce planning and succession management.
• Lead change management initiatives that support business growth and transformation.
• Design and execute talent acquisition and workforce planning strategies to attract high‑calibre talent and meet future workforce needs.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, disciplinary, grievance and dispute resolution processes, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation.
• Design and oversee performance management frameworks, employee engagement and culture initiatives.
• Develop leadership capability, learning and development programmes, and succession planning.
• Oversee remuneration, benefits and reward strategies to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.

Required profile

• Commercially minded and strategic HR leader with experience at senior level.
• Proven ability to partner with C‑suite executives and influence organisational direction.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law and employment equity requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in change management, workforce planning and talent acquisition.
• Track record of building high‑performance, values‑driven cultures.
