Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a leading manufacturing organisation in Johannesburg. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on financial management, partnering with senior leadership to drive growth, efficiency and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full finance function and oversee financial performance across the business.
• Act as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and operational teams.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Provide technical accounting expertise and ensure compliance with all financial reporting standards.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, process improvements and operational optimisation.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Support business growth initiatives with data‑driven financial insights.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation within finance processes.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification or completed CIMA qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience.
• Proven experience in manufacturing, FMCG or automotive sectors.
• Strong operational finance and technical accounting expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence strategy.
• Track record of delivering efficiencies, optimisation and business performance.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach.
