Head of Finance

About the role

The company, a long‑standing South African OEM serving the mining and industrial sectors, is seeking a commercially astute Head of Finance to join its executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape financial strategy and ensure robust financial performance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team of five direct reports.
• Own the full finance function, including strategy, reporting, controls, compliance, cash‑flow management, budgeting, forecasting and operational finance support.
• Manage and review all tasks related to financial performance and provide guidance on monthly, quarterly and annual results.
• Develop and maintain currency‑hedging strategies and manage forward‑cover risk in line with policy.
• Monitor treasury activities, assess cash‑flow adequacy and predict future trends.
• Supervise audits for all group companies.
• Ensure accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a finance management role.
• Experience in manufacturing, OEM, mining, engineering or related industrial environments is preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Syspro ERP system.
