Head of Digital & Performance Marketing

About the role

The Head of Digital & Performance Marketing will own the digital growth engine for Lesaka's Merchant Division, driving measurable business outcomes across corporate and community merchant segments. You will turn marketing spend into qualified leads, activated merchants and revenue, while building a high‑performing team and capability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the digital and performance marketing strategy aligned with divisional commercial targets.
• Set channel mix and budget allocation across paid, owned, earned and lifecycle channels, reallocating based on performance.
• Lead paid‑media strategy, creative testing, audience targeting and ensure tracking integrity (conversion tags, UTM discipline).
• Own divisional web properties, landing pages and SEO strategy to generate intent‑driven traffic.
• Oversee organic social and content marketing for both township and corporate merchants.
• Build a unified reporting framework that connects media spend, web analytics, CRM and revenue into a single performance view.
• Run continuous test‑and‑learn programs and embed a culture of optimisation.
• Recruit, lead and develop the digital team; manage agency and platform partners.
• Partner with trade marketing, GTM, product marketing and sales to align digital plans with go‑to‑market priorities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in digital and performance marketing, preferably within merchant or retail environments.
• Demonstrated ability to convert marketing spend into qualified leads and revenue.
• Strong data‑driven mindset with experience closing the loop from spend to CRM outcomes.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills.
