Handyman – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Handyman to join The Capital Hotels team, ensuring that all maintenance issues across the property are resolved quickly and efficiently. You will work on a variety of tasks, from routine repairs to larger projects, supporting the comfort and safety of our guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Address maintenance requests logged during shifts and via verbal instructions.
• Perform general DIY tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating.
• Maintain and service areas such as security systems, pools, grounds, hotel rooms, and other facilities.
• Collaborate with hotel staff to identify and prioritize repair needs.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Matric (high school) qualification.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on handyman or maintenance experience.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Strong communication skills with staff and guests.
• Honest, trustworthy, detail‑oriented and presentable.
• Team player who can also work independently and manage multiple tasks.
