Grill Cook

About the role

The Grill Cook will join the kitchen team at MY Diners in Cape Town, preparing a variety of grilled meats, seafood and vegetables to the brand’s high standards. This full‑time, on‑site position is essential for delivering consistent quality and a memorable dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and break down the grill station for each service.
• Cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls and specified cooking times and temperatures.
• Monitor food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
• Coordinate with kitchen colleagues to manage order flow during peak periods.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience working on a grill in a fast‑paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Understanding of menu items, portion control and basic food safety practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong teamwork, time‑management and communication skills.
• Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
