Global Mobility Specialist

About the role

Minopex is hiring a Global Mobility Specialist for its Woodmead, Johannesburg head office. The role manages and coordinates international workforce mobility and resource mobilisation so that employees can be deployed across countries legally, efficiently and cost-effectively, within project timelines. It involves periodic international travel to operations depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan international resources: partner with Business Development, Projects, Operations and People & Culture on workforce needs, build mobilisation plans, decide local versus expatriate mix, and track assignment completion for redeployment or repatriation.
• Conduct or coordinate people and mobility due diligence for new countries and projects, including country guides and advice from immigration, legal, payroll and tax experts.
• Manage immigration and work authorisation: determine visa routes, coordinate documents, liaise with embassies and authorities, track applications and maintain expiry records.
• Develop mobilisation and demobilisation plans, coordinate international travel and relocation, and run readiness meetings.
• Coordinate the full assignment lifecycle: assignment letters, secondment agreements, benefits and allowances, briefings, extensions and repatriation.
• Support localisation and skills transfer, including tracking localisation commitments and monitoring expatriate versus local ratios.
• Maintain and improve global mobility policies, keep audit trails and monitor compliance with home and host-country requirements.
• Coordinate expatriate payroll, benefits and tax, including split-payroll, allowances and tax equalisation or protection.
• Provide mobility costing inputs during bid and project planning and flag variances between planned and actual costs.
