German-Speaking Reverse Auction Sales Executive

About the role

AnyVan, an online marketplace for moving goods across Europe, is hiring a Reverse Auction Sales Executive in Cape Town. The role turns warm inbound enquiries into confirmed bookings by running live competitions between transport partners, with speed, negotiation and pipeline ownership at its core.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your pipeline end-to-end: response time, follow-ups, conversion, margin and booked revenue.
• Contact warm inbound leads within minutes, qualify quickly and keep momentum high.
• Run live reverse auctions, engaging multiple transport partners to secure the best viable rate.
• Negotiate with customers and suppliers while protecting margin and booking quality.
• Drive every enquiry to a booked, timed follow-up or a proper close-out.
• Add services that genuinely improve the customer outcome and increase booking value.
• Track activity, conversion and revenue daily and adjust your approach accordingly.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken and written German and English.
• Proven success in a high-performance, target-driven sales environment.
• Strong negotiation ability and commercial instinct (margin mindset).
• Strong communicator who builds rapport quickly and handles objections and closes confidently.
• Excellent pipeline discipline and follow-up execution.
• Enthusiasm, resilience, attention to detail and fast learning.
• Experience in logistics/freight brokerage, recruitment, estate agency, car sales, insurance broking or marketplace businesses is a bonus.
