General Worker – Waste and Refuse (4 positions)

About the role

The Kgatelopele Municipality is seeking four General Workers to support its waste and refuse operations. You will work on the ground to ensure streets, public dustbins and waste facilities are kept clean and safe for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform litter control and general labour tasks at the waste disposal facility.
• Assist the public with waste disposal, empty streets and public dustbins.
• Load and off‑load materials and equipment as required.
• Collect and remove waste from streets, public spaces and buildings, and transport it to landfills or transfer stations.
• Clean spills, maintain equipment and facilities, and ensure proper storage of cleaning tools.
• Adhere to safety regulations and report incidents to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Grade 9‑10 (NQF Level 1‑2) education.
• Relevant experience in a similar environment is an advantage.
• Physically sound, healthy and able to work in inclement weather.
• Responsible, disciplined, team‑oriented with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime and after normal working hours.
