Functional Consultant – Time & Attendance

About the role

Embelo is partnering with an independent consultancy to expand its Cape Town capability in workforce management. As a Functional Consultant specializing in UKG Pro Time & Attendance, you will lead end‑to‑end client engagements, focusing on time capture, scheduling, labour rules and system integrations for complex retail environments.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with operations, payroll, HR and workforce planning stakeholders to capture Time & Attendance requirements.
• Analyse existing time capture, scheduling and labour rule configurations.
• Design, configure and implement UKG Pro (Time & Attendance) solutions aligned with business needs.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations.
• Configure and support integrations between UKG and payroll, HR or third‑party systems.
• Define and implement future‑state processes for time capture, absence and scheduling workflows.
• Conduct system testing, validation and defect resolution, especially for T&A and integrations.
• Validate data, ensure pay rule accuracy and compliance with labour regulations.
• Deliver training to operational and payroll teams on T&A functionality.
• Support go‑live activities and post‑implementation optimisation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Time & Attendance processes (time capture, pay rules, absence, scheduling).
• Experience with system integrations (payroll, HRIS, third‑party).
• Exposure to configuration, testing and implementation of workforce management systems.
• Knowledge of workforce operations and labour rules, preferably in retail or frontline environments.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and validate outputs.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
