Front Office Manager – Hotel & Conference Center

About the role

Our client, an up‑market hotel and conference centre in Pretoria, is seeking a Front Office Manager to lead the front‑desk team and ensure a seamless guest experience. Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you will act as the bridge between front‑office operations and back‑office support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily front‑office functions including reception, concierge, switchboard and guest relations.
• Manage guest check‑in, check‑out, room allocation and billing accuracy.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance to guarantee room readiness and swift issue resolution.
• Drive revenue by achieving budgeted room revenue and upselling targets in partnership with Revenue and Sales.
• Maintain compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, brand standards and relevant legislation (health & safety, POPIA, fire regulations).
• Lead, coach and develop the front‑office team, monitoring performance and fostering career growth.
• Handle complex guest situations, VIP arrivals, group bookings and service recovery when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in front‑office management within the hospitality sector.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a guest‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage budgets, monitor performance metrics and drive revenue.
• Knowledge of relevant South African regulations (health & safety, POPIA, fire).
