Tasting Room Assistant Manager

About the role

A well‑established wine farm in Durbanville is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and customer‑focused Tasting Room Assistant Manager to join the team and ensure guests enjoy a memorable wine‑tasting experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service, welcome guests and handle queries or complaints.
• Drive wine sales, conduct tastings and promote products.
• Manage stock takes for wine, tasting supplies and kitchen inventory.
• Restock retail shelves and fridges, open and prepare the tasting room for daily trading.
• Operate the cash float and POS system, complete end‑of‑day closing procedures and security checks.
• Oversee kitchen rosters, maintain cleanliness standards and monitor condition of bathrooms and customer areas.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Sales‑driven with ability to promote and sell products.
• Experience in stock control and inventory management.
• Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash.
• Organisational and time‑management skills, able to work weekends, public holidays and flexible shifts.
• Professional, friendly, well‑presented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
