About the role
The Fresh Foods Manager is responsible for overseeing the Fruit & Vegetable, Deli, Bakery, Fisheries and Perishable sections of a retail store. The role focuses on driving profit by managing all operational elements that impact sales and margins.
Key responsibilities
- Control and coordinate daily functions of all fresh‑food departments.
- Manage product ordering, shelf layout and merchandising to maximise sales.
- Oversee ranging, markdowns and shrinkage control.
- Handle administrative tasks and ensure accurate reporting.
- Lead and develop department staff.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards across all sections.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing multiple fresh‑food categories in a retail environment.
- Strong focus on profit growth and operational efficiency.
- Ability to lead teams and manage people effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
