Regional Director Sub-Saharan Africa

About the role

EBANX is seeking a Regional Director to lead its expansion across South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria. You will own the P&L for the region, shape market entry strategies, and drive sustainable growth while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute market entry and growth strategies for prioritized countries.
• Conduct in‑depth market assessments and align them with EBANX’s global vision.
• Identify, negotiate and secure strategic partnerships with banks, payment processors, PSPs and regulatory bodies.
• Develop competitive positioning and tailored go‑to‑market plans for each market.
• Monitor regulatory, commercial and payments landscape and provide market intelligence.
• Act as primary liaison with local regulators, overseeing licensing and compliance.
• Collaborate with commercial leadership to accelerate merchant acquisition and support existing merchants.
• Promote a results‑oriented culture and mentor local teams across functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading P&L for a multi‑country region.
• Strong strategic vision combined with hands‑on execution capability.
• Deep understanding of payments, fintech ecosystems and regulatory environments in Africa.
• Excellent partnership negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience fostering collaboration and high performance.
