Fractional CFO

About the role

A fractional CFO is needed to provide strategic financial oversight and high-level leadership during an upcoming organizational transition, working approximately 5 to 10 hours per week. The role takes full ownership of financial control while partnering with the executive team and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), who oversees operational management. It suits someone who can combine technical rigour with a strong boardroom presence.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall financial strategy, establish and maintain robust financial controls, and advise the CEO strategically
• Maintain institutional knowledge and ensure seamless strategic continuity across all financial operations
• Partner with the COO and executive team during leadership transitions to align financial management with operational goals

Required profile

• 5+ years of proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role
• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification
• Personable, collaborative leadership style focused on organizational growth and innovation
• Desirable: experience managing executive leadership transitions
