Foundation Phase Teacher – Grade 3

About the role

Belhar Islamic Primary School is seeking a dedicated Foundation Phase Teacher for Grade 3. This full‑time, on‑site position involves planning and delivering daily lessons that align with the national curriculum while reinforcing Islamic values.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging lessons for literacy, numeracy and other core subjects.
• Assess learner progress, maintain accurate records and provide constructive feedback to students and caregivers.
• Manage classroom routines and create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on learner support initiatives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education) with a focus on the Foundation Phase.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate teaching authority (SACE registered).
• Strong classroom management and lesson‑planning abilities, with capacity to differentiate instruction.
• Commitment to the ethos of an Islamic school and respect for diversity and inclusive education.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with learners, caregivers and staff.

Required skills

• Basic digital literacy and ability to use educational technology and school communication platforms.
