Forensic Auditor

About the role

The Forensic Auditor will lead investigations into fraudulent and illegal activities across the Group, ensuring thorough, end‑to‑end case handling. This role combines forensic accounting, audit, and legal liaison to protect the organisation’s assets and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations and audits, identifying fraudulent behaviour and assessing misconduct severity.
• Develop investigation plans and strategies, either independently or with audit, HR, and insurance stakeholders.
• Manage complex investigations, external investigative resources, and produce detailed investigative reports.
• Recover losses, assist in drafting charges, and compile case dockets for criminal prosecution.
• Liaise with judicial bodies such as SAPS, DPCI, HAWKD, and senior public prosecutors.
• Perform fraud profiling, lifestyle reviews, and identify red‑flag indicators.
• Implement and promote the Ethics‑Line facility, including awareness campaigns and training.
• Conduct audits, fraud risk assessments, and security risk reviews, providing recommendations and supporting control implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Forensic Accounting, Forensic Investigation, Law, or Finance.
• 5+ years of experience in forensic investigations, fraud risk management, internal audit, compliance, or related fields.
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and communication skills for interpreting evidence and presenting findings.
• Management capability to coordinate field investigators and external contractors.
• Training in investigation techniques, labour law, criminal procedure, and evidence handling is advantageous.
