Foreman – Mining Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Foreman to lead engineering maintenance activities at our mining operation in Secunda, Mpumalanga. The role ensures that maintenance teams meet production targets while adhering to quality, cost, delivery, safety and sustainability principles.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily engineering and maintenance strategies and overhaul plans to meet departmental KPIs.
• Control maintenance costs against budget and ensure equipment availability by managing downtime, shift schedules, MTTF and MTTR.
• Implement operational projects, develop and enforce engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure compliance with legislation and governance bodies.
• Assess the economic and engineering viability of major business cases, provide inspection expertise and coaching.
• Execute condition‑monitoring programmes, conduct failure‑trend analysis, root‑cause elimination and implement predictive‑maintenance recommendations.
• Coordinate planning across departments to support target achievement and control production costs within budget.
• Maintain best‑in‑class safety performance, achieve zero‑harm metrics and ensure SHE compliance.
• Oversee recruitment, training, coaching and career development, managing vacancy rates, turnover and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Formal education: National Senior Certificate or equivalent (Full N3/NCV Level 4).
