Fleet Controller

About the role

The Fleet Controller is responsible for ensuring that a fleet of road‑worthy vehicles is available to support the Service Centre. This role combines operational oversight with driver liaison, cost monitoring and compliance with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Brief drivers according to company standards and debrief them after trips.
• Monitor vehicle costs and driver performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle licensing, servicing and maintenance.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure compliance with the National Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation.
• Utilise fleet management systems such as Fleet Vision and ABSA to track usage, costs and maintenance schedules.

Required profile

• Strong self‑management and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to multi‑skill across functions as required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• High numeracy and literacy, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Integrity, customer orientation and emotional maturity.
