Fleet Controller

About the role

The Fleet Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the client’s and SR FML fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with road traffic regulations and quality standards while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical and equipment repairs and services for all fleet vehicles.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with Road Traffic Regulations and QSP requirements.
• Manage routine maintenance according to service agreements and schedules.
• Maintain maintenance administration records and purchase orders for repairs.
• Act as liaison between service providers and the company.
• Receive, record, and report daily vehicle check sheets, mileage, and fridge hours.
• Prepare weekly service schedule reports for vehicles, fridges, and tail lifts.
• Arrange vehicle hand‑overs between distribution centres and service providers.
• Maintain strategic third‑party supplier relationships and service levels.
• Ensure certifications for tail lifts, fridge calibration, and truck wash schedules.
• Inspect and sign off accident and breakdown repairs for quality assurance.
• Obtain and maintain vehicle licensing, registrations, and quality audits.
• Control transport expenditure, monitor fleet budget, and authorize purchase orders.
• Ensure procedural compliance and drive continuous improvement in process, quality, service level, and cost.

Required profile

• Experience controlling maintenance and repair of a vehicle fleet.
• Ability to receipt and report daily vehicle check sheets and damages.
• Proficiency in tracking vehicle uptime, mileage, and equipment hours.
• Experience managing service schedules and vehicle hand‑overs.
• Strong supplier relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of road traffic regulations and QSP quality standards.
• Capability to conduct quality audits and certify equipment.
• Experience with cost control, budgeting, and purchase order authorization.
