Financial Accountant – Remote (US Clients)

About the role

We are a South African‑based accounting firm that supports US companies. We are looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to work remotely and provide bookkeeping, accounting and reporting services to our US‑focused clients during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate bookkeeping and accounting records for US clients.
• Apply US GAAP principles to produce compliant financial statements.
• Reconcile accounts, review financial statements and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Use QuickBooks and other accounting software to manage client accounts.
• Communicate regularly with clients and maintain professional relationships.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and service delivery.

Required profile

• BCom in Accounting, Finance or a related degree.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proven client‑facing experience with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
• Quick learner, adaptable and proactive.
• Willingness to work US time zones (flexibility required).
