Financial Accountant – Industrial Sector

About the role

We are a well‑established industrial organisation seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for a hands‑on professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can manage high volumes of transactions with accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full financial accounting and reporting, including month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and management accounts.
• Maintain fixed assets, perform stock reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Produce cash‑flow reports and manage foreign payments.
• Ensure statutory compliance for VAT, PAYE, and income tax.
• Identify risks, strengthen internal controls, and support budgeting and audit activities.
• Collaborate closely with operations and other business units to provide financial insight.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant.
• BCom Accounting qualification (Honours advantageous).
• Strong financial accounting and reporting background.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel or similar.
