Financial Accountant – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our head‑office team in Cape Town. The role supports a central cost‑centre function and offers exposure to payables, payroll and group finance while working closely with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger integrity and process monthly journals (accruals, payroll, depreciation, pre‑payments).
• Perform balance‑sheet and income‑statement reconciliations and prepare month‑end financial packs.
• Review financial processing, approve payments and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Manage end‑to‑end payroll for ~30 employees and handle statutory submissions.
• Oversee creditor function, cost‑centre allocations and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Assist with VAT submissions, SARS compliance and fixed‑asset register maintenance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, audit processes and ensure adherence to IFRS and company policies.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Exposure to payables, payroll and reporting environments.
• Experience interacting with non‑financial stakeholders and senior management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• BCom in Accounting or equivalent; SAIPA qualification preferred.

Required skills

• ERP experience – SYSPRO (advantageous).
• Knowledge of IFRS standards.
