Finance & Systems Controller (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

This remote position is for a Finance & Systems Controller who will own the end‑to‑end finance function for a fast‑growing US‑based medical services provider. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will combine financial expertise with technology to automate processes and deliver real‑time insights.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full finance function across multiple entities, including bookkeeping, reporting, controls and compliance.
• Prepare and deliver timely management accounts and executive financial reports.
• Stabilise and optimise the financial tech stack, eliminating manual work through automation.
• Design and implement data pipelines between proprietary systems and QuickBooks Online.
• Automate reconciliations using exception‑based logic and maintain a standardised chart of accounts.
• Build real‑time dashboards for executive visibility.
• Partner with software engineering teams to embed financial data integrity into core systems.
• Oversee payroll interfaces, financial allocations and multi‑state compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance and broader operational processes.

Required profile

• CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent finance qualification.
• Proven experience managing the full finance function and reporting to senior leadership.
• Strong multi‑entity accounting experience, preferably in a tech‑enabled environment.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and other financial systems.
