Finance Manager – Hotel Accounting

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the day‑to‑day accounting function of Protea Hotel George, supporting the Cluster Director of Finance in delivering financial leadership and clear direction to the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and present financial reports and reconciliations.
• Manage internal and external reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
• Oversee asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.
• Support the Cluster Director of Finance in strategic financial decision‑making.
• Lead and develop the hotel finance team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Full or part‑qualified accounting qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience, with hotel accounting experience essential.
• Strong numeracy, analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication and reading comprehension.
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, P&L statements, budgets and forecasting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Opera, PeopleSoft and Micros accounting systems.
