Finance Manager – Group Reporting & Internal Controls

About the role

The Internal Auditor will join Travelstart Group’s finance function, providing group‑level financial reporting, consolidations, technical accounting and internal control support. This role offers exposure to a fast‑moving, multi‑entity, multi‑currency online travel business and is ideal for a newly qualified CA(SA) looking to deepen expertise in group reporting and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly group management accounts and support group consolidations, including inter‑company eliminations and foreign‑currency translation.
• Review balance‑sheet and income‑statement reconciliations at subsidiary level and assist with variance analysis and commentary.
• Handle technical accounting matters under IFRS such as revenue recognition, leases, provisions and business combinations.
• Support VAT queries and document accounting treatments for new transactions, entities or system changes.
• Design, document and monitor group financial controls; coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements, standardise reporting across entities and support automation initiatives.
• Liaise with finance teams across the Group to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – advantageous but not compulsory.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Experience (or exposure) with group reporting, consolidations or multi‑entity environments.
• Background in e‑commerce, online travel or technology‑enabled businesses is a plus.
