Finance & Management Accountant

About the role

This role manages full-scope financial operations and management accounting across an allocated portfolio of entities, delivering accurate, actionable financial information to key stakeholders. It sits within a shared-services structure supporting wealth management practices and works closely with the Financial Manager. The position covers month-end reporting, process improvements and group-level financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Own the complete accounting function for an allocated portfolio of entities, from transaction processing and cashbook entries to management accounts.
• Execute month-end reporting, maintain supporting schedules and run comprehensive reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve financial variances, accounting issues and discrepancies.
• Support group-level work such as financial consolidations, budgeting, forecasting and audit preparation.
• Contribute to financial controls, system initiatives, reporting upgrades and process improvements.
• Engage with stakeholders so that financial data is complete, clear and meaningful.

Required profile

• Matric.
• Proven track record in a high-execution accounting role with strong technical accounting fundamentals.
• Practical experience using Sage or similar accounting software.
• Desirable: diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ICB Financial Accounting, SAIBA, CIMA (operational level) or similar.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Sage or similar accounting software.
• Microsoft Office, including Teams and SharePoint.
• Strong financial systems aptitude and quick learning of new technology.
