Finance Intern (Accounts Payable, Receivable & Reconciliations)

About the role

Afrirent Holdings is recruiting ten finance interns to support its Finance Department in Centurion. The intern provides support with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, petty cash administration and general financial administration, gaining practical experience in financial processes, accounting systems and financial controls while completing assigned tasks accurately and on time under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable: capture supplier invoices, check supporting documents, match invoices to purchase orders, maintain supplier records and refer queries to the Finance Clerk or Supervisor.
• Accounts receivable: check customer and billing information, prepare invoices and statements, capture payments, maintain debtor records, follow up on outstanding amounts and report discrepancies.
• Reconciliations: identify discrepancies, reconcile supplier invoices and customer accounts, obtain outstanding statements and support debtor and creditor ageing reports and month-end reconciliations.
• Petty cash: check claims for supporting documents and approvals, record transactions and prepare weekly petty cash reconciliations.
• Administration: file invoices, statements, payment confirmations, credit notes and reconciliations, keep electronic and physical records organised, update supplier and customer information and support weekly and monthly finance reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Financial Accounting, Accounting, Cost Accounting or a related field.
• No minimum experience required; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
