Finance Controller – Regional Finance Leadership

About the role

The Finance Controller will provide comprehensive financial support to business leadership across South Africa, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory and tax compliance, treasury management, and strategic finance activities. Reporting to the Regional Finance Head, the role partners with the Central FP&A team, senior management, and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing, statutory reporting and preparation of IFRS‑compliant financial statements.
• Prepare management reports, variance analysis, group reporting and dashboards for strategic decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory regulations, transfer pricing and corporate governance; manage relationships with auditors and tax consultants.
• Drive FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, financial modelling and business performance analysis.
• Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, accounts payable/receivable, working‑capital and cash‑management.
• Support commercial finance through sales reporting, pricing governance, claims management and cross‑functional partnering with sales, marketing, supply chain and regulatory teams.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives, SAP enhancements, automation projects and internal‑control strengthening.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with approximately 5 years of experience in business finance, accounting and audit.
• Strong stakeholder‑management abilities and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and thorough knowledge of local statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Industry preference: pharma, FMCG, consumer or manufacturing.
• Valid work permit for South Africa.
