Finance Controller – End-to-End Accounting & FP&A

About the role

The Finance Controller will own end‑to‑end accounting and finance functions for the South African entity. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role supports the Business Head and commercial teams with analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in line with local GAAP and IFRS, including segmental P&L, cash flow and balance sheets.
• Produce forecasts, budgets and long‑range plans (3‑5 years) for the country.
• Manage cash, receivables, collections and liaison with customers, distributors and 3PL partners.
• Oversee stock and sales movement reporting, distributor agreement reviews and claim validation.
• Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits, VAT, transfer pricing and compliance with local regulations.
• Lead a small finance team, delegating tasks and ensuring accurate accounting reconciliation.
• Support business partnering activities such as profitability analysis, business case preparation and vendor negotiations.
• Participate in the implementation of accounting software and business intelligence tools.

Required profile

• CPA, CA or equivalent qualification (or part‑qualified with extensive experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, FP&A, business support and local taxation, preferably in the pharma sector.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end finance processes and lead a small team.

Required skills

• ERP implementation experience.
• Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax/VAT compliance.
