Finance and Accounting Manager

About the role

Our client is looking for a self‑driven Finance and Accounting Manager to lead tax management, statutory compliance and financial reporting functions. The role involves close interaction with tax authorities, auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in tax planning, provide tax advice and mitigate tax risk across VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, CIT, customs and other taxes.
• Support company secretarial duties for the holding company and subsidiaries.
• Coordinate annual external audits and resolve audit findings.
• Prepare and submit all statutory returns, maintain statements of accounts and close annual accounts within statutory deadlines.
• Design and improve internal control systems, identifying weaknesses and recommending enhancements.
• Assist with month‑end closing, manage reporting deadlines and produce management reports.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in tax, including preparation of various tax types and dealing with SARS.
• Minimum 3 years of experience reconciling accounts to statements.
• B.Com in Accounting or Financial Management; SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA qualification is a plus.
• Ability to work overtime during month‑end periods.
