Field Services Technical Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field Services Technical Assistant to support our field service technicians in maintaining critical building assets. The role involves daily monitoring, fault identification and coordination with contractors across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of HVAC, fire systems, lifts, generators and transformers.
• Identify operational faults, secure hazardous areas and escalate critical failures.
• Escort specialist contractors, record arrival and departure times.
• Maintain accurate logs of system pressures, oil levels, run‑hour meters and temperature readings.
• Communicate downtime and service schedules to commercial tenants.
• Perform scheduled tests: weekly fire system and generator checks, daily lift visual checks, monthly transformer inspections.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency alarms as part of a call‑out roster.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) – optional technical certificate in electrical, mechanical or building services.
• 1‑2 years experience in property maintenance or similar field.
• Willingness to undergo rapid technical training.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
