Feed Controller – Albert Falls

About the role

The successful candidate will be a motivated, hands‑on individual who enjoys working in an operational environment and understands the importance of accuracy, communication and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily feeding activities using the feedlot feeding software system.
• Track feed cars, tractors and feeding progress throughout the cycle.
• Oversee feed plant operations and bin levels.
• Ensure feeding instructions are correctly assigned and communicated.
• Monitor feed intake, identify irregularities and report potential problems.
• Identify delays, equipment issues or feeding discrepancies and alert management.
• Maintain continuous communication between the feed plant, tractor drivers, cattlemen and management.
• Assist in coordinating feeding activities to keep cattle on schedule and maintain accurate operational records.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Fluent in English and conversant in isiZulu.
• Computer literate and comfortable with computerized systems.
• Good administrative and record‑keeping abilities.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify problems and escalate them promptly.
• Basic understanding of monitoring plant, machinery and equipment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
