Feedmill Manager – Albert Falls

About the role

Karan Beef Farming (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Feedmill Manager to lead and manage all aspects of its feedmill operations in Albert Falls. The role is responsible for efficient production of high‑quality livestock feed while maintaining quality, safety, cost control and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily feedmill operations to achieve production targets and coordinate schedules.
• Ensure feed production meets quality and nutritional specifications and complies with GMP, HACCP and OHS legislation.
• Monitor efficiency, drive continuous improvement and oversee preventative maintenance programmes.
• Control raw material inventory, stock accuracy and production costs, identifying savings opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and develop supervisors and production staff.
• Prepare operational reports and collaborate with Procurement, Maintenance, QA and Feedlot Operations.
• Handle budgeting, cost‑center controls and management of external feedmill sites.
• Communicate with suppliers on procurement and logistics issues.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, Production Management or related field.
• 3–5 years management experience in a feed manufacturing operation.
• Strong knowledge of feed production processes, quality assurance and inventory management.
• Experience with preventative maintenance planning and production optimisation.
• Ability to set up and maintain management and control systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using ERP systems.
