Facilities Team Leader

About the role

Rohloff Group is looking for a reliable Facilities Team Leader who is passionate about facilities management and service excellence. The successful candidate will oversee a multidisciplinary facilities team, coordinate daily operations, ensure high standards of workmanship and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role combines technical facilities expertise with strong leadership, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key responsibilities

• Maintenance planning and execution: plan, schedule and oversee daily maintenance across multiple sites, run preventative maintenance programmes, inspect building infrastructure, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, electrical and plumbing systems, resolve breakdowns and emergency repairs, and monitor the quality of completed work.
• Team leadership: lead and supervise maintenance technicians, allocate tasks, provide on-the-job training, conduct performance evaluations, promote a strong safety culture and enforce accountability standards.
• Contractor and vendor management: coordinate external contractors and service providers, ensure work meets SLAs, budgets and quality standards, oversee procurement of materials, tools and spare parts, and evaluate vendor performance.
• Compliance and safety: ensure adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and company policies, carry out regular safety inspections and risk assessments, keep compliance documentation such as logs, permits and certificates, and enforce safe working practices.
• Administration and reporting: maintain records of work orders, maintenance history, asset condition and inventory usage, prepare maintenance reports, support budget planning and cost control, and track and report key maintenance KPIs.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Valid driver's licence (Code B / EB).
• At least 3-5 years' experience in facilities or maintenance operations.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and leading a maintenance team.
• Advantageous: relevant trade certification (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Plumbing); experience in multi-site environments such as retail, QSR, restaurant or hospitality; basic project management experience.
