Exchange of Information (EOI) Expert Specialist

About the role

The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is seeking an Exchange of Information (EOI) Expert Specialist to support its tax transparency initiatives across member countries. Based in Pretoria, the specialist will work with the ATAF EOI Technical Committee and member tax administrations to develop policy, provide technical assistance, and deliver capacity‑building programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to member countries for implementing EOI standards, including Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI).
• Develop policy and administrative products such as legislative guides, toolkits, and best‑practice manuals.
• Design and deliver EOI training workshops, prepare training materials, and coordinate expert participation.
• Support internal processes including annual planning, budgeting, and coordination of EOI activities.
• Maintain relationships with competent authorities, government officials, tax professionals, and partner organisations.
• Represent ATAF in multilateral meetings and global standard‑setting discussions on EOI and tax transparency.
• Conduct research and provide recommendations on EOI and tax transparency issues.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in exchange of information matters, preferably within a tax administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders across African countries.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in developing policy documents, guides, and training programmes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EOI standards and Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) frameworks.
• Experience in policy drafting and creation of technical toolkits.
• Capacity‑building and training delivery expertise.
