ESD and Third-Party Specialist

About the role

The ESD and Third-Party Specialist will lead capital‑raising initiatives, manage third‑party funds and build strategic relationships with funders to expand financing for black‑owned enterprises. The role focuses on pipeline development, efficient fund disbursement, reporting and long‑term financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute fund‑raising strategies targeting banks, private equity, venture capital, government grants and other sources.
• Identify and maintain a robust pipeline of funding opportunities and develop tailored proposals for potential funders.
• Build and manage relationships with funders, providing regular performance updates and handling queries in line with partnership agreements.
• Monitor market trends and emerging financial opportunities to optimise fundraising approaches.
• Set and track ambitious targets for capital raised, deal closure and ongoing funder relationship management.
• Assist in developing tools to monitor partnerships, evaluate outcomes and ensure custodianship of third‑party funds.

Required profile

• Proven experience in capital raising, co‑funding partnerships or similar financial development roles.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of building and sustaining funder relationships.
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and present insights to senior management.
• Understanding of blended finance solutions and the South African black economic empowerment landscape.
