Enrolled Nurse - Theatre

About the role

A hospital group in Potchefstroom is looking for an Enrolled Nurse for its theatre department. The nurse provides direct and/or indirect nursing care to patients and works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Keep the environment therapeutic, clean and safe, free from medico-legal hazards
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients and promote their overall health and wellbeing
• Take part in the ward's quality improvement programme
• Attend shift handovers and communicate effectively with patients about their care
• Refer patient and doctor complaints to the unit's sister-in-charge
• Complete all departmental duties and delegated tasks assigned by supervisors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
• Compliance with the SANC code and applicable health care legislation
• Previous experience in a theatre operating environment (essential)
• Two years of nursing experience is an advantage
• Flexibility to work shifts
