Enrolled Nurse – Specialized Unit (Theatre)

About the role

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse in the theatre unit at Life Bayview Private Hospital, reporting to the Theatre Unit Manager. The purpose of this role is to conduct nursing activities that ensure quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct duties to meet quality patient care standards and comply with SANC regulations, relevant legislation and Life Healthcare policies.
• Maintain health, safety and infection‑control standards to provide a safe patient environment.
• Utilise resources effectively and maintain equipment.
• Accurate record keeping and ongoing patient education.
• Build effective relationships with patients, doctors and other medical personnel.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse with at least 2 years post‑registration experience.
• Experience in theatre scrubbing (advantageous).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Clinical competence in operating‑theatre nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Ability to work shifts as required.
• Knowledge of private‑healthcare industry challenges (advantageous).
• Computer proficiency (advantageous).
