Enrolled Nurse – Medical ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join its Medical Intensive Care Unit. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care in line with the professional scope of practice while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate (essential).
• CPD courses in the specific speciality area are desirable for specialised wards.
• No minimum experience required; 1 year post‑qualification experience is desirable before placement in a specialised unit.

• Basic Life Support trained.
• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation.
• Nursing care plan development.
• Risk identification.
