Enrolled Nurse - Coronary Care Unit

About the role

A vacancy exists in the new Coronary Care Unit at Life The Glynnwood in Benoni for an Enrolled Nurse Specialised (ENS) reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will provide and coordinate evidence-based clinical practices and resources efficiently, supporting the company's strategic objectives of growth, efficiency, quality and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver market-leading, evidence-based holistic clinical care within the scope of practice, meeting international standards for quality and safety.
• Manage labour hours in line with company policy and control costs across all business processes, including pharmacy and clinical engineering.
• Use resources, products, pharmaceuticals and equipment efficiently within agreed budgetary parameters.
• Take part in meeting Patient Experience, clinical and safety outcome targets set by Life Healthcare.
• Report customer complaints and adverse events and take part in investigations within allocated timeframes.
• Carry out all tasks delegated by the Unit Manager, Shift Leader or Registered Nurse.
• Ensure quality management systems follow company policy, enforce infection prevention principles and promote a safe, healthy working environment.
• Build lifelong partnerships with customers and stakeholders and communicate effectively internally and externally.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• One year of post-qualification experience in a CCU or ICU.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Updated knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.
• Updated knowledge of pathophysiology, anatomy and diseases to deliver optimal holistic care.
