Enrolled Nurse - Anaesthetics

About the role

Mediclinic is recruiting an Enrolled Nurse for Anaesthetics at the Wits Donald Gordon Med Centre in Parktown, Johannesburg. This is a permanent, on-site position with one opening; the closing date is 31 August 2026. The main purpose of the role is to deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all used stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Essential: Enrolled Nurse certificate.
• Desired: CPD courses in a specific speciality area for specialised wards.
• Essential: 2-3 years of experience working as an anaesthetic nurse in theatre.
• Desired: 1 year of post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.
