Engineering Storeman

About the role

We are a well‑established engineering company in the north of Pretoria, specialising in the repair, refurbishment and supply of electric motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes and related equipment. We are looking for a reliable, organised and self‑motivated Engineering Storeman to manage our stores and support workshop operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe store environment.
• Receive, inspect and store incoming stock accurately.
• Issue stock to workshop personnel and keep precise records.
• Monitor stock levels of electric motors, bearings, seals, spare parts, consumables, paints, fasteners and general engineering supplies.
• Conduct regular stock and cycle counts, identify low stock and assist with procurement.
• Ensure all items are correctly labelled, identified and stored.
• Maintain inventory records using the company’s stock control system.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed.
• Collaborate with workshop and sales teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Manage tool store, issue and receive tools, and check tool condition.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Storeman or Stores Controller, preferably in an engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, dependable attitude.
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport (advantageous).

Required skills

• Computer literacy with experience in stock control systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
