Email Marketing Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Email Marketing Manager to lead lifecycle marketing initiatives for a fast‑growing consumer brand in South Africa. You will own email, SMS, and subscription strategies that nurture first‑time buyers into loyal advocates while driving revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and scale lifecycle marketing programs across email and SMS, including campaign calendars, automated flows, and retention communications.
• Design, optimize, and maintain customer journeys for welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post‑purchase, cross‑sell, upsell, subscription, win‑back, and re‑engagement stages.
• Manage SMS campaigns and automations, continuously improving engagement and conversion rates.
• Create advanced segmentation and personalization strategies based on behavior and lifecycle stage.
• Collaborate with creative, growth, product, and CX teams to produce compelling content.
• Establish an experimentation roadmap covering subject lines, offers, timing, segmentation, creative assets, and landing pages.
• Analyze performance metrics, build reporting dashboards, and deliver actionable insights.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in lifecycle, email, or retention marketing.
• Data‑driven mindset with strong execution skills.
• Proven ability to increase repeat purchases, subscription adoption, and customer lifetime value.
