Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Pretoria. You will be responsible for creating high‑quality electrical systems, from concept through to production, supporting innovative projects across power electronics and battery technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design electronic circuits, multilayer PCBs, and power electronic systems.
• Develop Battery Management Systems (BMS) and DC‑DC conversion solutions.
• Produce schematics, PCB layouts, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Gerber files and full technical documentation.
• Perform circuit calculations, component selection, thermal analysis and efficiency optimisation.
• Execute prototype testing, validation, debugging and performance verification.
• Conduct functional, thermal, reliability and environmental testing of hardware.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing teams throughout product development.
• Support prototype assembly, production release, certification and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, EMC and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic product development.
• Proven track record designing and testing complex PCB assemblies.
• Experience with BMS, battery energy storage or renewable‑energy products.
• Hands‑on involvement from concept through production release.
