Early Childhood Educator

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our Cape Town centre. In this full-time, on-site position you will create a nurturing, play-based learning environment that supports the holistic development of young children.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth.
• Supervise children throughout the day, ensuring safety, inclusion and engagement.
• Prepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources.
• Guide play-based learning and facilitate daily routines.
• Observe, document and assess children’s progress.
• Maintain a well-ordered classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with families about children’s development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum goals and share best practices.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build respectful relationships with children, families and staff.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and experience designing age-appropriate activities.
• Creativity in developing engaging, play-based learning experiences.
• Experience working with children in preschool or early learning settings.
• Excellent organisational abilities for managing routines, materials and documentation.
• Relevant qualification or certification in Early Childhood Education.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for diverse children.
• Clear verbal and written communication in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Basic first-aid or child-safety training and an up-to-date police clearance.
