Dispensary Manager – Blomtuin (Bellville, Cape Town)

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies are seeking a qualified Dispensary Manager for their Blomtuin store in Bellville. You will lead the dispensary team, oversee self‑medication services and ensure high‑quality pharmaceutical care for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Staff the dispensary and self‑medication areas, ensuring all personnel work within their scope of practice.
• Maintain compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice regulations and manage expired or short‑dated stock.
• Oversee stock ordering, stocktake preparation and maintain optimal inventory levels, including Schedule 6 medication security.
• Interpret and process prescriptions accurately, verify patient details and ensure correct dispensing.
• Provide patients with clear instructions on medication use and manage medical‑aid claim processes.
• Train and supervise the Dispensary Admin Assistant and other staff members.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with a BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and a registered tutor.
• Strong communication skills in English and a second language, with good numerical ability.
• Experience supervising staff and willingness to work retail hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Unisolv pharmacy software.
• Familiarity with SAP pharmacy systems.
• Experience with e‑scripting platforms.
